Convert text to date format

I have a column consisting date details. But its just entered as texts.
How do I make it to a date format.

Formula for Yesterday
Name Manager, New Name. Yesterday =TODAY()-1. OK. Then, use =YESTERDAY in any cell. Tomorrow could be =TODAY()+1.
In that case, I think (but cannot test to be sure) that selecting the column and calling up the Text To Columns dialog box (as I instructed in Message #5), but instead of hitting the Finish button right away, select Delimited on the first dialog page and clicking the Next button, unchecking all the checkboxes on the second dialog page and clicking the Next button, then selecting the Date option button and selecting MDY from its drop down box on the third dialog page followed by clicking the Finish button might work..

Produces the same result as AkaTrouble posted in #9.
