Dear all,

I am exporting data from an educational piece of software into excel but unfortunately it exports dates stroed as text. I am hoping that someone has an easy way to convert this text into a recognisable date format in excel.

The file to download i here http://www.box.net/shared/i7s27nmxc4 with the dates stored as text in column K

Thanks

Steve

Excel Facts

Pivot Table Drill Down
Double-click any number in a pivot table to create a new report showing all detail rows that make up that number
Alternatively, select the dates, Data > Text to Columns, tick Delimited, click Next twice, tick Date and select DMY then click Finish.

Data > Text to Columns works on that data.

The cell containing the DATEVALUE formula was formatted as Text so it displayed the formula. Change the cell format to General, Press F2 then Enter, and format as a Date.
