I have a formula that adds together 5 cells that are merged with another 5 cells that are merged and then copy that formula down.

so, in Cell A4 through A7 are merged and B4 through B7 are merged.

The formula I have looks like this, =SUM(A4+B4) and that formula works, however when I try to copy the formula down to the next set of merged cells (A8 and B8) the formula changes to =SUM(A5+B5) and so on. I want the formula to read =SUM(A8+B8).

Any suggestions?

Which cell contains your sum for A4 and B4 and which cell contains the formula for A8 and B8?

In C4 you could do something like:

=SUM(INDIRECT("A"&(Row()-3)*4&":B"&(Row()-3)*4)
