Count IF Function

Hi there

I have included a screenshot of the formula that I'm currently using.

My question is in a count if function can i reference a particular cell instead of text. If you look at the example I'm going to be using the text in cell C3 for about 20 different Count If Functions and was wondering if there was a way of doing it without having to type in the text each time.
