So in Column Z I have a credit rating for a bunch of securities (AAA,AA,A,BBB,BB,B etc) and in column AA I have sectors that the securities are in (Corporates, Government Related, Others).

What I want to do is count up the number of say AAA securities that are in the Corporate sector. Any help would be much appreciated.

Cheers:)

Excel Facts

Did you know Excel offers Filter by Selection?
Add the AutoFilter icon to the Quick Access Toolbar. Select a cell containing Apple, click AutoFilter, and you will get all rows with Apple
I believe I just got the below formula to work actually:

SUMPRODUCT(--('[03-31-2018-Audit - Credit Quality (DJR).xlsx]Moody Then S&P3-31-17'!$Z$8:$Z$125=$A51), --('[03-31-2018-Audit - Credit Quality (DJR).xlsx]Moody Then S&P3-31-17'!$AA$8:$AA$125=I$48))
