Counting Items within a VLOOKUP

This has 2 items involved: A count function and a Sum function within a VLOOKUP. Though I may be incorrect in my assumption of them being within the VLOOKUP

I need to Count the number of times the word "Total" comes up within a specific chart

After that and in a different cell I need to pull up the amounts associated with those "total"'s and sum them up

Customize Quick Access Toolbar. From All Commands, add Speak Cells or Speak Cells on Enter to QAT. Select cells. Press Speak Cells.
You don't need vlookup for any of the above.
The countif formula will give you the first answer and either sumif or sumproduct will give you the second answer.
