Creating a Macro to Pivot data

I pull data daily and I usually do the same thing to it which is pivot it, select the same few criteria and format it properly. I would like to create a macro which does all of this as it would save me a ton of time, but when I try to record macro and then pivot the data, it doesn't work and sends me to the debug vba. Can anyone help!? I'm not too experienced with macros.
