Creating distribution graph from normalized values

Hi all,

I have a column of normalized values, with mean 0, and st dev =1.

It looks fishy (much more negative z scores than positive), so I wanted to take the column of values and create a normal distribution graph.

That is, ideally I would want to get something that looks like your standard bell curve. Using my standardized values, I want to try and replicate this bell curve, but I am afraid it might not appear like it when all is said and done.

For example, the values in the column are

-0.321392512
-0.253378377
-0.241654729
0.025153766
-0.029586851
-0.321392512
0.349166272
-0.041951697
-0.321392512
0.498150214
-0.321392512

<colgroup><col></colgroup><tbody>
</tbody>

I have a full column of values like these. Anyone know how to turn it into a bell curve type distribution?

yes divide the data range into 16 equal sized bins eg -33 to -32 and -31 to -30 through to .49 to .50

ok that is more than 16 bins each will be about 05 wide

count how many fit each bin and plot those counts

note if your data is not normally distributed you are stuck with it.........
