Hi All,

i have a series of groups set up in excel id say around 20 and then there is further groups set up in 4 sets

i want code to run when a group is expanded

this is way out of my capability's do i need some form of class module

Excel Facts

Will the fill handle fill 1, 2, 3?
Yes! Type 1 in a cell. Hold down Ctrl while you drag the fill handle.
To my knowledge (or more accurately, with my limited skill level) I cannot get a worksheet to run code when a group is triggered. I tried the standard Worksheet_Change and Worksheet_SelectionChange to no success.

Would it be possible to control the expansion with a command button that the user will click instead of the + button for the group? From the command button's assigned macro you could both run the code you wish to run AND expand the group with VBA.

For help on how to expand / collapse groups with VBA, take a look at this.
