Hello,

I am putting together a form, and I would like that if the use selects a category in a drop down box, then it limits the options in another drop down box as a result of their choice.

You see this often on auto insurance quotes, where if you select the make of the car as FORD, then the model options are limited to only those models that are FORD. I am trying to accomplish a similar situation in Excel 2007, where someone chooses a department, and then they can choose from a list of employees that are in that division.

So far I have the first drop down box with the departments, and I have the lookup table created in preparation for the second that connects the employee names to the department.

Thanks!

Kelly

Excel Facts

Move date out one month or year
Use =EDATE(A2,1) for one month later. Use EDATE(A2,12) for one year later.
Hi,

Have your models list indiviually named by MAKE

e.g.

KA
Fiesta
Mondeo

Highlight these 3 - insert name Define, call it FORD

Corsa
Vectra
Astra

Highlight these 3 - insert name Define, call it VAUXHALL

Assuming you MAKE dropdown is cell A1, then in the the variable dropdown:

data-validation-select List - Source = INDIRECT($A$1)

*by the way, I am using Excel 2000! so may be slightly different options*
