I am using a drop down list to populate the adjust cells next to it. I am trying to lock the cells that populate based on the drop down. Is there anyway to lock those cells and still have the information change if necessary?

How to show all formulas in Excel?
Press Ctrl+` to show all formulas. Press it again to toggle back to numbers. The grave accent is often under the tilde on US keyboards.
It should still change if you ( lock / protect ) the cell...
maybe I am not understanding your desire...
mention the cell locations so I can get a visual...
also, are you protecting the sheet...?

if you want to lock cells adjacent to the dropdown as a result of that drpdown, you will need VBA to protect the worksheet....but you will also need VBA to Unprotect the worksheet if you want to change the cells value.
obvious question, but if you will need to reuse the dropdown list, why lock the cells ???

I guess I did phrase it wrong. I had a brain fart cause I knew it could be done but thanks to CHRISDONTM I re-figured it out.

I was wanting to protect the sheet but prevent certain data fields from being changed cause those have VLOOKUP formulas and if I let someone else use the XLS then I wouldn't want them undoing everything I did.
