Hi everyone,

I am trying to create a larger pair-wise comparison sheet in Excel - thus I have a matrix that looks something like this:

n 5 6 7 8
m D E F G
1 A
2 B
3 C
4 D

What I want to do now, is always compare a cell pairwise.

I am trying to come up with a drop down list, that always lists the options for exactly the relevant comparison. E.g. between B and D it would show the numbers 2 and 5. FOr a comparison between B and E it would show 2 and 6. INstead of creating each drop down list manually, is there a way I can reference the respective row and column in the source of the drop down list? Or would there be another way to narrow down possible values of the respective cell to only the relevant numbers?

Thanks a lot in advance,
