Excel 2007 Pivot Table Lost in Excel 2013

I created an Excel 2007 data table and pivot table report workbook for a group of users. One of the users, using Excel 2013, emailed me the file after they used it, and the pivot table structure and formatting are all gone! The "data" and "values" are all still there, but the pivot table is no more.

I had uploaded this file to Google Drive, and the user claims to have downloaded it to desktop and then opened it from there, presumably launching Excel 2013 and opening it from within that version.

Does anyone have any idea what happened? Is there an issue with 2007 pivot tables in 2013? Could the user (admittedly doesn't know anything about Excel) have actually opened it in Google Sheets, which I presume doesn't support pivot tables? Any other possibilities? I searched for a 2007/2013 issue, but didn't find anything.
