Excel can not complete this task with available resources. Choose less data or close other applications.

Hi All,

I am getting the following message,

"Excel can not complete this task with available resources. Choose less data or close other applications."

And when I click OK, I get the following message box.

Microsoft Excel cannot open or save any more documents because there is not enough available memory or disk space.
To make more memory available, close workbooks or programs you no longer need.
To free disk space, delete files you no longer need from the disk you are saving to.

Even though there are no other applications open, is this to do with Excel or should I contact IT.

Please advise.

For what I can see, either your Ram or your hard drive is full.

I don't think your problem is with your Excel.

I suggest you to verify in your task manager how much space is used. If this is correct, verify that your hard drive have enough space to save it.

Hi Roxxien,
Actually it did not resolved the technical way, I had to restarted Excel, and it worked. I think this should be the first thing everyone should do.
