Excel line graph with colored ranges (Red/Yellow/Green)

I am trying to create a chart in Excel 2003. What I want to do is track my performance over a year in %. In the chart I would like to see color ranges that show which category I am in. From 0-85% should be red. From 86-92% should be yellow. From 93-100% should be green. Any ideas on how I can make the background of my chart these colors at these values? I'm not sure I explained myself well.

Yes, that is the general idea of what I would like to do, however with the horizontal bands extending all the way to the edges. Also I would need the date labels at the bottom of the chart.
