Excel Facts

Why does 9 mean SUM in SUBTOTAL?
It is because Sum is the 9th alphabetically in Average, Count, CountA, Max, Min, Product, StDev.S, StDev.P, Sum, VAR.S, VAR.P.

Hi lil_doe_onfire:

Welcome to the Board!

If the question is somehow related to Excel, it would be a fair shot. By the way, you can notice that the MrExcel consulting site now advertises that MrExcel consulting is no longer only for Excel, but also for Word, Access, and PowerPoint as well. However the Board is primarily for questions on Excel.

Regards!
