I have an Excel book (Worked well for five users for YEARS) that we have been forced to migrate to SharePoint

It is the sole book in a Library requiring Check In and Check Out

The "master workbook" creates a new workbook from Cell variables (Which then closes the Master) and the user is left in the "New"

All works right, but the Master remains Checked out. If I call a Check In process in at ANY point, I only end up with a blank "New"!

Is it possible to Check In a workbook OTHER than the active workbook?

Is it possible to Check In a workbook WITHOUT closing it?

Any clues would be gloriously appreciated!!
