From time to time, Excel would show only one button on the taskbar when several workbooks are open simultaneously. This doesn't happen all the time and I can't predict when it will or will not happen.
I have checked the taskbar's property. The taskbar button is set to "Never Combine". On the Excel side, under File/Options/Advanced/Display, "Show All Windows in the Taskbar" is checked. Yet, these two settings are sometimes ignored. When the two settings are ignored and all workbooks show up as only one button, I have to use "View/Switch Windows" to get to the workbook I want to view. This is cumbersome.
Anyway to correct the problem? Any help is greatly appreciated.
This problem is seen on Excel 2010 with either Windows 10 or Windows 8.1 pro, two different computers. In the Windows 7 days, I don't recall having this problem.
