Flag whether queries need to run or not

I have 54 Excel workbooks that each have 9 MSQuery queries. Each of the 9 queries query an Access query. Each Excel workbook takes about 2 minutes to update all 9 queries but it is not necessary to update every query every time the Excel workbook is opened.

I'm looking for a way to eliminate the time required to update the Excel file queries if the data in the Access database has not changed.

Example: Monday afternoon, some of the queries would need to update because of updates made to the Access file Monday AM. However, Tuesday AM the Excel queries would not need to be updated because no changes would have been made to the Access database between Monday AM and Tuesday AM. Eliminating the update saves each user 2 minutes upon opening their Excel file on Tuesday AM.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Excel Facts

Which lookup functions find a value equal or greater than the lookup value?
MATCH uses -1 to find larger value (lookup table must be sorted ZA). XLOOKUP uses 1 to find values greater and does not need to be sorted.
Turn off the auto refresh and run the updates from Workbook Open event. Get the VBA code to check what day it is.

Or even better - run a control workbook each day that runs the queries you want - then the users don't ever need to wait on an Access Query.
