Fraction of Year with Changing End Dates

Our corporate year end is 31-MAR each year. 31-MAR-18, 31-MAR-19 and so on. Not a fixed number as time doesn't stop.
If I have the date 01-OCT-18 in cell A1, I want to put into cell A2 the number of months until the NEXT year end, 31-MAR-19. Or even the fraction of the year remaining. Either will work.
But if the input is 01-OCT-19 then it should output the number of months until 31-MAR-20.

=DATEDIF(A1,DATE(CHOOSE(MONTH(A1),0,0,0,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1)+YEAR(A1),3,31),"m")

I appreciate it.
Note that it only shows whole months until the future date, but this is exactly what I need.
