This is probably a simple Yes/No.
Is there a formula that will get (or allow the calculation of), say, the XY coordinates of each end of a line shape?

I know it can be done with macros. And, I suppose the result could be stuck into a group of cells, but that isn't elegant.

Excel Facts

Quick Sum
Select a range of cells. The total appears in bottom right of Excel screen. Right-click total to add Max, Min, Count, Average.
It cannot be done without VBA.
