HELP!!!!!!! Accounting Report!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Location Project DISCIPLINE NAME Total Hours A 1 xxx John 1 A 1 xxx John 1 A 2 xxx John 3 A 1 xxx Jane 5 B 1 xxx Jane 5 B 2 xxx Doe 2 B 2 xxx Doe 2 <tbody> </tbody> How could I consolodate a similar report by taking values in the Project column and the persons name and adding the total hours worked for that particular Project. Instead of having multiple lines with repeated Project Numbers for an individual, I can report it on one line as a total for the person and the Project. For instance John would reflect 2 hrs total for the hours worked on Project 1 and 3 hours total for the hours worked on Project 2. I want to keep the same formatting just consolidate the information by Project and Name and giving the totals for that particular combination.

Under the Data Menu, check out the Subtotal option. You can do what you want there..

just a reminder for using SubTotal. Ou have to sort your table in ascending order accordingly. e.g. in your case, by Name and then by Project

OR you may consider to use Pivot Table to summarize your data
