Is there a way to use data from a file that has been updated with a different name on the server?

Location stays the same, but the name changes somehow.
for example: location: G:\...\Quality\data\brackets_26-04-2016.xlsx
after _ :date will be changed

So there is a possibility there are multiple files in the map.

But i want to use the last modified file.
Every time the layout stays the same.

I would like to link data from that file (variable) to my new file.

And if i can figure that out.
Is that even possible to link excel files using sharepoint?

Excel Facts

Bring active cell back into view
Start at A1 and select to A9999 while writing a formula, you can't see A1 anymore. Press Ctrl+Backspace to bring active cell into view.

If the file name always follows the same format and has today's date in it, it is predictable and we can dynamically figure out the file name.
I assume that you will be doing this in a macro, so to build the file name of the file to open will look something like:
Code:
    myFileName = "G:\...\Quality\data\brackets_" & Format(Date, "dd-mm-yyyy") & ".xlsx"
Can't really answer your question about Sharepoint. I don't use it.
