HTTP/1.0 404 error when opening excel files

I'm using Windows 7 and Excel 2007. When opening an Excel file that was previously shared with Dropbox (but which is now saved on my hard drive) I get a series of HTTP/1.0 404 error messages. Each message indicates that Excel is unable to open a file in my Dropbox folder. None of the files are in my Dropbox folder anymore. None of the files link to the excel spreadsheet I'm trying to open. After clicking through several of these error notices (each one referencing a different file) the Excel file opens and works fine. This is really annoying and I can’t find any info on how to fix it or why it occurs. I would like to be able to avoid having to click through these error messages. Please help. Thanks.
