I wish to open and view a specific location in a pdf document, (from an XL File) by creating a hyperlink in XL file, for the pdf-document-bookmarks.

This is possible with a word document, but am unable to do the same for a PDF file.

Also I am using Foxit reader, as this helps in bookmark creation in the PDF file.

I tried using the "Getobject" but not sure how and where you can find the "Application" name.

I have searched a lot of forums but could not find any help in this regard.

Request help at the earliest.

Thanks in advance.

Copy PDF to Excel
Select data in PDF. Paste to Microsoft Word. Copy from Word and paste to Excel.
Thanks Andrew,

The link you have referred to is more a workaround (still not what I am looking for ) and not a solution I am looking for.

I feel this can be solved if we can know the application, like the one for the word as shown below.

Set WA1 = GetObject(, "Word.Application")

Instead of this we need to have the application name for the PDF ( something like "..PDF.Application").

Not sure if this application name will differ if the PDF documents is being viewed in Foxit or Acrobat etc.

Hoping for more relevant inputs.

Thanks again Andrew,

I am unable to take the next step, despite looking at the second link contents.

Wish to point that I am using a FOXit reader (not acrobat reader..or other readers).

Also what I meant by a "workaround" was with reference to my requirement.( as stated below for clarity purposes)

I am expecting a navigate to the bookmarked location in the PDF document, when I click the hyperlink in XL sheet
( just as we can do in Word document), and I need a macro to create this hyperlink.

Hoping for more help.

Your first link does refer to use of Foxit, but as I have stated, but it is not in lines with the solution I am looking for.

I could not find any reference to the Foxit in the second link.

Please let know in case I have missed something.

Hoping for more help.

As far as I am aware it's not possible to create a hyperlink in Excel that links to a PDF bookmark (even in VBA).
