So. Let's say I have a formula vlooking up A1 in an alternate sheet and trying to return whatever value. The formula is simple and correct.

The issue is that the formula doesn't work until I double click A1 and then enter which activates the cell to be used? Very weird behavior.

Please let me know if you've experienced this before and how to correct it in bulk since it's currently impacting 1000 or so cells.

Excel Facts

Repeat Last Command
Pressing F4 adds dollar signs when editing a formula. When not editing, F4 repeats last command.

Do you have Formula/Calculation Options ... set to Automatic?

Try to wake it up by:
Copy a blank cell (chose any available cell then Ctrl-C)
Choose range of formula
Paste Special/Operation: Add
OK

The sleeping cells are currently blank. When I copy a working blank cell or use format painter on the range, it doesn't work.

When I copy it to a new workbook, it corrects.

My issue is that copying it to a new workbook isn't an option.

Do you have VBA code running?

Are you able to post your workbook (if it doesn't contain sensitive information)? You'll need to upload to a drop box and post the link here.

I may have figured it out. I used COUNTIFS looking within a full column instead of within a specific range. When I specified the range, it provided the correct output.

Thank you.
