Hello Everyone,

This question seems so straightforward, but I cannot find the right words to find this answer online. In the below image, I want to have a formula in cell N3 that will return the word "May", since May is the first month in the range where the value is less than 1. Please note this is not the lowest value, but the first instance from left to right where the number in row 3 actually falls below 1, and the desired result is to return the value from F2. Thank you!

Excel Facts

Is there a shortcut key for strikethrough?
Ctrl+S is used for Save. Ctrl+5 is used for Strikethrough. Why Ctrl+5? When you use hashmarks to count |||| is 4, strike through to mean 5.
What version of Excel are you using?

I suggest that you update your Account details (or click your user name at the top right of the forum) so helpers always know what Excel version(s) & platform(s) you are using as the best solution often varies by version. (Don’t forget to scroll down & ‘Save’)

Microsoft 365, where I recently have the formula Xlookup. Thanks for the Account Details suggestion. I will change that now.

Ok, in that case how about
Excel Formula:
=INDEX(FILTER($B$2:$M$2,B3:M3<1),1)
