Hi,

I have a simple spreadsheet where I am copying over data from another sheet called 'Master Tracker' in the workbook, so each cell is just a basic ='Master Tracker'!A5 etc. However where some of the cells are blank, I want the cells on my other sheet to also appear blank instead of a zero value (dates for example appear as 00/01/1900). How can I work this into the formula?

Also, one of the columns doesn't let me do the link as that particular column uses a drop down menu from the other sheet, is there any way to get around this?

Thanks in advance

Remove leading & trailing spaces
Save as CSV to remove all leading and trailing spaces. It is faster than using TRIM().

=IF('Master Tracker'!A5="","",'Master Tracker'!A5)

Caveat: Some dependent formulas might need to change. For example, if that formula were in A5 and A6, the formula =A5+A6 would return a #VALUE error if 'Master Tracker'!A5 and/or 'Master Tracker'!A6 were blank.

There are many good fixes. The simplest: =IFERROR(A5+A6,0).

Alternatively, continue to use ='Master Tracker'!A5, and choose a format that displays blank instead of zero. Downside: that will display blank even if 'Master Tracker'!A5 is zero, not blank.

Difficult to understand and answer without details. Perhaps the formatting trick above would solve the problem.
