Hi,
If anyone can help me with this dilemma.
I've created a table in excel with a set of data and formulas. This table includes column titles. The table is almost similar to a bank statement where there's an Opening Balance and Closing Balance.
The first cell in the Closing Balance is simply equals to the Opening Balance, however, the remaining cells are formulas that are flash filled.

The problem:
Everytime I create a new entry (row), the Closing Balance picks the first cell data, instead of the last data formula. This results me in having to flash fill everytime I enter a new row.

how can I get excel to ignore the first cell when flash filling and pick from the last cell

Excel Facts

Return population for a City
If you have a list of cities in A2:A100, use Data, Geography. Then =A2.Population and copy down.
anyone??

Can you please give some more detail as to cell addresses and exactly what you expect to happen and what actaully happens when you do what you call flash fill.

Cheers

Hi... thanks for replying... I was able to find a work-around... I removed the table formatting at first, created the formula separately, and then reformatted the table again...

I don't know why Excel had to go in this direction, but it worked

:)

In my experience there is a great sense of achievement when finding the solution ourselves. Thanks for letting me know.
