Hi i cant manage to create index match formula (cell F4). One of the condition to meet by criteria is part of the text in Column D in another file wich should be equeal to 2015. I have never made such complicated formula so far so I decided to look for help. File is in the attachment -> link below:
Index match with part of the text as condition

Excel Facts

Why are there 1,048,576 rows in Excel?
The Excel team increased the size of the grid in 2007. There are 2^20 rows and 2^14 columns for a total of 17 billion cells.
I am unable to view your attached file without logging into the other forum. If you can create an example and post it here, we should be able to help you. That being said, I recommend making helper columns to build your formula. For example, make a column to extract 2015 from a string and another to use that value in your index match formula. This makes building large/complicated formulas easier.

Something like this.

ABCDEF
1StringValueMidLetters in StringMatch
2123 ABC 4564ABCABC4
31 BCD 463BCDBCD3

<tbody>
</tbody>

C2 =MID(A2,FIND(" ",A2)+1,3)
F2 =INDEX(B:B,MATCH(E2,C:C,0))
