I'm new to Excel and use Mac Excel 2011. I understand the basics of conditional formatting but I can't quite figure out how to enter text in one cell based on whether another cell is greater than a third cell. Here's what I want to do:

if a1 <= b1 then insert text "BUY" in cell c1

If I could add color to that cell c1 to make it stand out when the condition is satisfied, that would be a bonus.

Thank you very much.

Excel Facts

Copy a format multiple times
Select a formatted range. Double-click the Format Painter (left side of Home tab). You can paste formatting multiple times. Esc to stop
The formula in C1 would be:
=IF(A1<=B1,"BUY","")
The CF formula would be:
=$A1<=$B1
or the alternative
=$C1="BUY"
