Hello

I have a table which analyzes email deliveries and open rates. Columns are Jan - Dec along a row.

For each month I have the following - no of emails delivered, no of emails opened, open rate (%), YTD emails delivered, YTD opened and YTD open rate.

I want to make the table smaller and remove the YTD opened row. To do this I'll need to add a larger formula to calculate the YTD open rate (currently just YTD Opened/YTD emails delivered).

I cannot figure out a formula that sums the "no of emails opened" for the year up to that point only. This formula would be a component of the YTD open rate formula.

Put another way I'm seeking a formula that will sum 1 cell in a row for jan, 2 cells for feb, 3 for march and so on. Any ideas?

What is the fastest way to copy a formula?
If A2:A50000 contain data. Enter a formula in B2. Select B2. Double-click the Fill Handle and Excel will shoot the formula down to B50000.
Hi Glen,

I actually figured it out with some help. Was a simple one that I was over thinking on. I was trying, essentially, to sum preceding cells only (jan, jan and feb, jan +feb +march etc etc.

What I did was use a formula =sum($C4:N4) so that when I dragged the formula along to the right it would sum an additional month along each column.

Thanks all the same
