Good morning,
I was working on a couple of large spreadsheets two days ago when my PC hung and crashed. Since then all the links between the two sheets appear to be inoperable. When I open one sheet i the following error message comes up. "The workbook contains one or more links that cannot be updated." I click on Edit Links and the status for the one worksheet that this one is linked to is "Error:Source Not Found." If I click on Update Values I am able to navigate to the correct folder and click on the file. The status goes to OK but if I click on Check Status it goes back to the previous message about links needing updating. If I click on Change Source and navigate to the correct file and click it, Excel basically starts replacing all the "#N/A" in the cells containing formulas with 0, refuses any input in Excel and turns the screen a semitransparent white and eventually in Task Manager both Excel and Edit Links will show status of "Not Responding."
The Resource Manager shows both Disk I/O and Network with lots of peaks and valleys, CPU and Memory remain constant.
Sorry to prattle on but I wanted to give as much info as possible.
Any suggestions are very much appreciated. At this point my fallback plan is to get files restored from backup and re do the last 3 days' work.
Thanks,
Bill
