Hi,

I have two sheets named as sheet1 and sheet2
in the sheet1 i have two coloumns Column A contains Emp IDs and Column B contains Stationary taken. Column A and B will be updated whenever someone will take any stationary.

on the second sheet (Sheet2) in the Column A i have the unique list of employee id. and in Column B i update list of stationary taken against the empyee ID seperated by comma (,).

Currently I am updating this column B by manually doing cntrl F. this is just a small part of long list. Can a formula be inserted in this column to populate this? or macro if it can do the trick.

could i make a suggestion if you are able to alter the spreadsheet some.

on sheet1, in cell c1, use the formula =A1&B1
this will give you a cell with a result that is like 234pen

then on sheet 2, in column a you have all the employee ids, start them in cell a2
then in cell b1 through however many you need, list your stationary items

then in cell b2 use the formula
=COUNTIF(Sheet1!$C:$C,$A2&B$1)

this is will allow you to drag the formula to the other cells and give you a total count of what items each person took in a nice little table.

If your running the code from a basic Module you must have the Data sheet Open , not Sheet(2).

This macro actually creates a new list and remove the emp. ID which are not available in sheet1.

I am afraid it is not the case.

Do you want the update added to the Bottom of sheet (2), or Integrated in it or something else. ???? ???

In the sheet2 column A is filled with unique list of Emp ID all I need the information to be pasted in column B. the result which is extracted by the macro against the correct Emp. ID.

There are few Emp. ID like 350 in my earlier example. as it is not availble in sheet1 so the result corrosponding this celll should be a blank cell..

you have done most of it.

Request you to change it a bit to suit my requirements.
