I have a large excel csv file with thousands of rows and I need to poll whether the value in column S= 0 (zero) and if it does I need to change the value of column Q in that same row to 4. Is there a simple way to do this? Thanks for any help or instruction you can provide. I am new with excel and have been throw to the wolves so to speak.

There's no need for a macro. You could just use a formula in a helper column: =IF(S1=0,4,Q1)

Then you can copy the results to column Q and Paste Special-->Values.

Is that all? Excellent! Thank you. So make a new empty column and run =IF(S1=0,4,Q1) as a formula. Copy/Paste to column Q delete 'helper' column. Did I get the gist correct :)

Thanks for the welcome!
