Negative number

On my spead sheet I would like to make all my negative numbers red with a - sign in front of them but my format cells menu does,t give me the option is there a way around this ?

Three semi-colons will hide the value in the cell. Although most people use white font instead.

Select the cells you want to format, go to the "Format Cells" dialogue box and change the format to custom and add a new type:

#,##0_);[Red]-#,##0

Mark, there's no need for _) if you're not gonna enclose the negative value in parenthesis.
