Hi,

So I have a graph with a legend on the RHS. If I go to design - select data and hen arrange he order of the legend to the order I want via the arrow buttons, it is not in sync with the actual legend (only one graph). If I go to the graph and click the filter button that appears (top right of graph), it shows the actual order of legend shown on the graph (not the order I want), but this menu doesn't allow me to edit the order here.

Things I have tried:

Delete the graph, remake it and format it.
Add new data points
Repair excel
Restart PC

Alas, no result.

Excel 2016- Has anyone else seen this before? I have googled this issue but I haven't found anyone with the same symptoms, and their solutions we to go to -select data- and arrange the legend from there, which doesn't work for me. Hope I have explained well enough

I can send a dropbox link (cant find attachments) of the file in question if needed.

Thanks in advance.

Does the VLOOKUP table have to be sorted?
No! when you are using an exact match, the VLOOKUP table can be in any order. Best-selling items at the top is actually the best.
Sods law, I managed to figure it out minutes after I gave up on it and decided to post this...

So my combo graph had 3 types - Scatter smooth, Scatter straight and plain Scatter. Apparently excel groups them in the legend then lets you order them, based on their type. Order of Legend Entries in Excel Charts - Peltier Tech Blog

So, excel had gone a bit silly and grouped mine in a weird way. To solve it I went to -Change chart type- then set the 3 Scatter Straight series to smooth, clicked Ok, then back to -Change chart type- and set the same 3 series back to Scatter Straight. Problem solved.

Hope this helps people in the future.
