I have a list of phone numbers in my excel sheet. I formatted them using Special and Phone Number to get (250)999-2222 Format. Weirdly some align left and some right? (Not sure this has any bearing but cells with no phone number are marked None. )Please advise. Thank you in advance.

I just formatted them to align right.
Does that mean that you still have some with a space character after the closing parenthesis and some without?

Spell Check in Excel
Press F7 to start spell check in Excel. Be careful, by default, Excel does not check Capitalized Werds (whoops)
I was going to ask the same thing. To extend that thought, if you have phone numbers without the space, they are not following the format you have set and are mostly likely text instead of numbers.
