hi all

i can't remember that formula where it looks for one word or phrase and then returns everything in the columns next to that.

in other words.
i have 5 colums with text and numbers in them in the last column stock movem, ent is indicated with either a z for dead or a range of other letters indicating it's status.

what i need to do is have the formula look at the whole sheet ( bloody long one ) and return on another sheet only the rows with a z* in the last column...

any and all help appreciated.

Whats the difference between CONCAT and CONCATENATE?
The newer CONCAT function can reference a range of cells. =CONCATENATE(A1,A2,A3,A4,A5) becomes =CONCAT(A1:A5)

=IF(F1="z",(CONCATENATE(A1,B1)),"")

where F1 is whatever column your Z* values are in... A1, B1 are the values you want to output as one value...

If you want the book to search it and return it for you, you are going to need to insert another column, use the IF statement above without the concatenate command, then use a Vlookup to find it.... Gonna be a big formula!!
