Hi all,

I have a userform with text boxes for users to enter numbers, and I have labels set up to display the sum of the entries from those text boxes.

If a text box is empty, it is throwing an error when the sum function is triggered.

Is there a way to set the form to read blank text boxes as 0 for the sum functions?

Thanks!

Excel Facts

Why does 9 mean SUM in SUBTOTAL?
It is because Sum is the 9th alphabetically in Average, Count, CountA, Max, Min, Product, StDev.S, StDev.P, Sum, VAR.S, VAR.P.
Hi,
use the Val Function to coerce your textbox strings

Code:
Dim myvar As Double

myvar = Val(Me.TextBox1.Text)

The Val function stops reading the string at the first character it can't recognize as part of a number also, if any of your textboxes are left blank, it will return 0
