Return hours scheduled

I am working on creating an employee schedule for my work and I cannot figure out how to return a value for say a scheduled shift of 1030-6 or 11-6 in a single cell.
If there is a formula for this what would it be?

Hello Pheonix1, welcome to MrExcel

I'd advise you to put the start and end times in different cells, then you can get the time worked more easily, e.g.

A2 has start time, e.g. 09:00, B2 has end time e.g. 17:00 and C2 has the formula

=B2-A2

You can use any valid time format, e.g. you might want the times to be 9:00 AM and 6:00 PM, formula will be the same....
