Hi!
I'm attempting to search for 800 in a cell and return 800 plus 5 digits after.(80051234)

I'm currently using: =find(800,AC2)*Left(AC2,8)

This is working if the cell begins with 800 but for cells that may contain other numbers or texts first, I'm receiving an error message.

Excel Facts

Can you sort left to right?
To sort left-to-right, use the Sort dialog box. Click Options. Choose "Sort left to right"
Hey try this out

=MID(A1,FIND("800",A1,1),8)

this assumes your value is in A1 just change the cell to your like

You can nest an iferror to handle when there is no 800 present in the text at all like so

=IFERROR(MID(A1,FIND("800",A1,1),8),"")

That worked perfectly. I knew I was close, just didn't dig into that Mid formula enough. And yes, I did wrap it in the iferror. Thank you soooo much!!!
