My formula for displaying the last date kind of works. However, if there are no "AC" values in column B, then it returns a 00/01/1900 value. How can i amend the formula below to show some text in this case?

=MAX(IF(C8:C5000="AC",E8:E5000))

You can teach Excel a new custom list. Type the list in cells, File, Options, Advanced, Edit Custom Lists, Import, OK
May be:

Excel Formula:
=IF(COUNTIF(C8:C5000,"AC"),MAX(IF(C8:C5000="AC",E8:E5000)),"Not exists")
