Hello

Here is what I am trying to do, perhaps someone can guide me?

Cell A1 is a drop down list to choose between 2 options- Cats or Dogs. whichever you choose will drive the answers below.
If you choose either one- Cats or Dogs, it pulls data from other cells and populates cells A2 and A3 with specific quantities of Cats and Dogs.
Cell A2 is- if it is Cats, then a certain #of Cats
Cell A3 is- if it is Dogs, then a certain # of Dogs
Cell A4 is- If cell A1 is Cats, then grab data from cell A2, If cell A1 is Dogs, grab cell data from A3.

Thanks for your help~

Ok

My sincere apologies.

Apparently, unknown reason why, but the data validation seemed correct, but when I squeezed down the column so tight .10 width, it seemed to have a problem with accessing or grabbing the data, even though in the cell it showed cats and dogs, it seemed like it couldn't do the calc.

So, I moved the data validation to a wider column cell (wanted to keep this stuff hidden) and it resolved the problem.

Was loosing my mind, as the formula was obvious, but behind every obvious answer there can be a complex question.

I guess I'll chalk this one up to to tight a column coupled with being very close to the right edge of the sheet (i removed all of the other sheets to the right to give this a ms word look in page layout). Perhaps what also contributed to this was by hiding the rest of the sheet to the right, caused excel to not be cooperative?

Anyone every experience this?

Thanks again for your help....;)
