I am working on a spreadsheet for optional life insurance where I need to round to the nearest 1,000
eg. I have an employee who makes $51,320.00 annually and I need to round it to the nearest $1,000 (which would be $52,000.00) Can anyone help me figure out a calculation?

Excel Facts

Remove leading & trailing spaces
Save as CSV to remove all leading and trailing spaces. It is faster than using TRIM().
=round(a1, -3) rounds

=ceiling(a1, 1000) gives the result in your example
