Hi,

I have a file with a number of macros for data editing, formatting etc to create large Excel report. The first stage of this is always to pick a flat Excel data file to feed in to it from a simple file open dialog.

I would like to right-click on that data file in Windows Explorer and from the Send To menu select my macro-laden file to kick off the process that way.

Can anyone - if I've been clear enough here - give me a pointer as to how to go about doing this?

Thanks in advance.

How to calculate loan payments in Excel?
Use the PMT function: =PMT(5%/12,60,-25000) is for a $25,000 loan, 5% annual interest, 60 month loan.
Hi Matt,
Thanks for these links; I'll check them out.

But basically you reckon there's not really a way of launching a macro from outside Excel itself? My big macro template file takes data from a flat file, does some stuff, then outputs a PDF, and three or four smaller Excel files, saves the lot to a dynamically determined path, puts it all in a Zip, and then attaches that to an email ready to be furnished with an address before sending. It'd be nice to launch all that from a quick command outside of Excel - right-clicking the data file and using the Send To seemed like a good place for it.

Oh well.. I'll carry on doing it the "long" way round ;)
