Slicer - How to change number format?

Hi,

I'm using Excel 2013. I have added a currency column ($1.00, $1.05, $1.10, etc.) to the slicer - which represents the exchange rates that the users are allowed to choose from. The problem is that the items in the slicer revert back to general format (1, 1.05, 1.1, etc.). I would like the items in the slicer window to show up as $1.00 instead of 1. Is there a way to fix this.

Thanks,
Sunil

Excel Facts

Format cells as time
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+2 to format cells as time. (Shift 2 is the @ sign).
Then there should not be any problem as I tried testing having same setting and did not faced any issue.

Can you post a sample workbook on some public link ?

Thanks for the response. It works if I insert the slicer over a normal pivot table - same as mentioned in your response. But I want to utilise the slicer in a PowerPivot table which means I need to select the option 'Add this data to the Data Model' while I'm inserting the pivot table. And this is where the issue that I was referring to shows up.

Sunil
