Hi all!
I doubt if this is possible, but I was hoping that I could use the data table functionality in Excel to calculate the sum of a large number of outcomes for me without needing to list them. I think it's best to explain with an example.
So, I make a formula:
<tbody>
</tbody>
Let's say I want to sum over the results, I can just do a straight SUM(start:end). That's all well and good, but what I'd like to know is, is there a way to do this without listing each of the outcomes in cells. So, rather than making the data table in this example, I'd say like SUM( TABLE(E7): RANGE(2,6)) or something like that...I know that won't work and those funcitons don't all exist, but I just made up the kind of thing i'd like to see.
Thanks in advance for any help

x | 2 |
f(x) = x^2 | 4 |
Then I list the outcomes I want and get their values using the Data Table function: | |
x | f(x) |
2 | 4 |
3 | 9 |
4 | 16 |
5 | 25 |
6 | 36 |
