Text to Columns - Can't change destination fields to text

When separating telephone numbers to the appropriate format, I change the destination cells in the spreadsheet to 'text', and also change the destination fields to 'text' in the 'text to columns' wizard. The separated numbers, however, still drop leading zeros. How can I retain the leading zeros in the destination columns?

Workdays for a market open Mon, Wed, Friday?
Yes! Use "0101011" for the weekend argument in NETWORKDAYS.INTL or WORKDAY.INTL. The 7 digits start on Monday. 1 means it is a weekend.
Good to know David

I just double checked Norie comment NO FORMULA NEEDED

and he is absolutely correct if you follow text to column wizard step by step

i.e. hit the next button it gives you the option to select 2 columns to be text. By default it's set to general.

Make sure you hit the text radio button and hi-light both column headings. As you enter that option the 1st column heading is showing as black and the second as white (it must be black i.e. selected)

I suspect you set the fixed to 2 then hit finish - DON'T DO THAT follow through to the NEXT option

Cheers

Yes, the answer is I did not highlight the two columns before selecting 'text'. Thanks everyone for their help. I think I'm good now!
