I record our church sermon, our Pastor gives me a copy of his powerpoint presentation which I convert to JPG in order to import them into Final Cut Express. I need to know how long each slide will be (they could vary from a short time to a very long time).

what I do is record in a spreadsheet

Column A - slide #,column B - Start time of slide, column C - difference between Slides (duration in terms of Min & Sec.)

Not sure how to set it up.

Get help while writing formula
Click the italics "fx" icon to the left of the formula bar to open the Functions Arguments dialog. Help is displayed for each argument.
To get the time between slides, just subtract the smaller time from the larger.

This is how I would like it to look
a typical sermon could be as long as 30 - 40 minutes.
and have 10 - 20 different slides.
